Great insight everyone should know
This book is, in my opinion, one of those classic essentials. We all interact with each other every day and we all struggle to get others to understand what we mean. This book unpicks and explains so many of our mannerisms and habits which we use every day. Fascinating and very helpful at work and at home. If you want the edge in your communication skills then don’t hesitate to listen to this book! Brilliant.

Insightful guidance material, relatable examples
Very good! Excellent detail, but understandable to the layman, on the science of the brain, natural reactions and emotions. All very well written without blinding with detail for anyone new to the topic. Examples are very relatable, with tips and guidance throughout and all things that anyone can use in aspects of their daily lives.

Hugely useful book and audio book
I have enjoyed listening to this book as it brings together multiple strands of knowledge into a useful set of tools with a solid theoretical underpinning.
My only small gripe is the authors other book on body language was referenced too many times, especially if you are listening to the audiobook in a few longer sittings. Then again, they say that repetition is the mother of skill.

Just the book I’ve been looking for!
As someone who has a lot to learn about how to communicate better, this has really helped me think about how I don’t have to shy away from social situations and that talking to anyone is a skill we can all get better at. The first half delves into a lot of the psychology around communication and then the second half really gets down to the nitty gritty on practical steps you can learn. I particularly liked learning new concepts of echoing, framing & pacing. Also, being someone who has to lead and speak publicly, I loved some of the tricks like turning disruptive questions back to all listeners and how to deal with people who talk too much (one of my pet peeves as an introvert!!)
You won’t regret talking your time to working through & implementing this book. I’m going to be dipping back in, as these are things that you improve over a lifetime. 👍🏻

Improve your communication skills!
This is an excellent resource for anyone looking to improve their communication skills, whether for business or personal life! The book is very comprehensive, and the author gives the reader a deep understanding of the topic, not only tips and tricks. It covers subjects like how the mind works, how different personality types communicate, and how to change your communication approach when talking to people to make sure you communicate in a way that they understand. I found the chapter on dealing with challenging people especially useful, as well as the chapter on using stories to communicate better. In addition to the valuable learning material, the book contains easy-to-understand examples to explain the theory. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their communication skills - an excellent resource!

Immensely Insightful
Great read. The author knows his stuff! Now I know how to deal with the many non-stop talking people I come across who forget the rules of a 2 sided conversation

Very useful book in helping you talk to anyone
The first part of this book covers how your brain works and gives you the confidence that you can learn new skills and gives tools about how to overcome anxious thoughts about speaking to others.
The second part gives practical tools like how to build rapport, how to use questions effectively, how to adapt your style to connect with different people and deal with difficult people as well as how to be in control when presenting to an audience.
I liked that the advice was useful in helping you come across as natural and friendly to others I have been trying some of the questions techniques and they are really effective.
The narrator of the book is very pleasant to listen to.
