Great to listen to on a run!

Really varied information along side personal stories. All which help you to have confidence in your abilities, challenge yourself and learn more about running. Learnt alot of great tips and found this brilliant company on runs.

Brilliant - I think I will listen to it again

Amy’s voice is so easy to listen to.
I loved the practical advice in the book, enjoyed the interviews and adored her sense of humour.
Amy made me consolidate the fact that I am a runner, when other books I’ve listened to say my pace is jogging!
I am currently starting my training for a Marathon and I want to thank Amy for writing this book.

A must listen for any female runner

Inspiring and informative a must read/listen, was a great companion on runs. Explores some serious topics for female runners whilst maintaining some great humour throughout, I had many laugh out aloud moments whilst listening.

Not a book about running but how one can be a better runner

If you are obsessed with PBs, training schedules and the way you look, this is the book for you. Although Amy Lane accepts her issues with eating disorder and obsessive training and says she has thankfully overcame those problems, I still found this book to be too much written in the mindset of a person who inherently thinks being skinny and fit and running faster than ever are the ultimate goals. It has a lot of good information but most of them are stuff that I am not interested in and sadly does not reflect the beauty of the sport she is advertising. This is not a book about running but it is about how one can be a better runner, more speed, more strength, better abs, etc. For that reason, I also didn’t find the book easy to listen to while running. It is a good manual for especially female runners but does not go beyond that. Amy Lane’s narration of her own book is not that great as well. Her voice is somewhat monotone and renders the informative bits particularly boring. In the end, this book reflects the journey of one person. There is merit in heeding to her advice but what she is saying may not be everyone’s cup of tea as was the case for me.

Helpful for most levels of runner

Not just for beginners. I have been running for around 6 years and am now doing half marathons. The book was very good for me and I would recommend.

Incredibly Insightful

Thoroughly well written with some really positive information to take on board. Lots to now think about. My only gripe is that the interview parts felt overly staged in the way they were spoken. If you want to run, this should definitely get you moving!

Honest and inspiring

A lovable yet informative, down to earth book! This gives a good insight to many runners journeys and battles with mental and physical health, including how to overcome many other obstacles!

Inspirational

This book couldn't have fallen into my hands at a better time. learning to run during lockdown seemed to be the perfect time to learn about my potential. This true account or ups and downs really can be related to so many people. I've now signed up for a half marathon yet three months ago I couldn't even run for 3 minutes without wheezing.
I know I'll listen to this book over and over and hopefully one day it will be before I tackle my first marathon. thankyou Amy for inspiring women everywhere to go and enjoy running!

A bit boring

I thought this would give me insight into a part of run training I had never looked into and was keen to start exploring. However, this book seemed to tell me (almost patronisingly) the very basics of running. If I were new to running it would be very helpful. There wasn’t anything new that helped me.
The stories were slightly entertaining.
I didn’t appreciate her putting down the potential help of yoga for runners. Find the right style and teacher and it can help your running immensely.
Finished the last part of the book on double speed to be sure I’ve not missed it but to also get it done.
