About this listen

Lisa Jackson is a surprising cheerleader for the joys of running. Formerly a committed fitness-phobe, she became a marathon runner at 31 and ran her first 56-mile ultramarathon at the age of 41. Unlike many runners, Lisa's not afraid to finish last. In fact, she's now done so in 25 of the 100-plus marathons she's completed so far.

Your Pace or Mine? isn't just Lisa's story. It's also that of the extraordinary people she’s met along the way - tutu-clad fun runners, octogenarians, and 250-mile ultrarunners - whose tales of loss and laughter are sure to inspire you just as much as they've inspired her.

This audiobook is for anyone who longs to experience the sense of connection and achievement that running has to offer, whether you're a nervous novice or a seasoned marathoner dreaming of doing an ultra.

An account of the triumph of tenacity over a lack of talent, Your Pace or Mine? is proof that running really isn't about the time you do, but the time you have!

Very entertaining

The stories and experiences were wonderful to listen to. However, the message of never giving up even in case of pain, can be quite harmful especially in case of a sport that is known to cause injuries even in casual joggers (the book went very little into conditioning and other maintenance-care). Also the idea of everyone being able to run is very simple, and especially the travelling and high-cost entrance fees are a limited luxury for some of us.

Fabulous, uplifting read

Last year I ran the London marathon, I was reluctant to call myself a runner as I was slow! None the less I decided I wanted to do more! I read Lisa’s column in Runners World, I am a new subscriber. Having read this book. I will now enter races that i would have avoid in the past due to fear of coming last!

Very inspirational listen.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I loved listening to Lisa’s running journey. Amongst many laugh out moments, Lisa demonstrates how coming last in a race is nothing to be a ashamed of. She talks about the people she has me, to the places she has been.
Even if you are not into running, this is still a great audiobook to listen to.

Inspirational, yet an emotional rollercoaster

This book helped me get my running back on track. Sometimes I’d choke on my drink because Lisa would say something hilarious and sometimes I’d choke because something was so sad. I could resonate with most of Lisa’s experiences. I only wish I had half of her mental strength to complete 100 marathons! Amazing achievement, your Mum would be proud x

Inspirational story for runners of all levels

A great book that will inspire you to see the fun side of running and realise that you can achieve so much more than putting miles in your legs when you don't take the sport too seriously. Lisa has inspired me to try at least one marathon after hearing about all her exploits in this book. She really is an inspiration
