About this listen
Maxwell is anticipating a quiet summer, with perhaps some light gardening if necessary - and as long as plants don't grow over the door and trap them inside, it won't be. But, as often is the case, Mrs Troubridge happens and a day out for her and her special friend, Mrs Getty, takes Maxwell and Nolan to Haledown House and into a web of intrigue and death. Maxwell's summer is nothing like he planned. As resident conversationalist at a stately home, with riding lessons for Nolan and free dinners when she wants them for Jacquie, Mad Max Maxwell could be forgiven for expecting an easy time of it - with a fat cheque thrown in. But murders soon cross his path - almost literally - and with his own life in danger, will he make it to the dreaded A Level Results Day?

Mad Max finally back
Up to MJ Trow's usual high standard: witty, great characters (and cat) and narrated with perfect aplomb by Peter Wickham.
