About this listen
Detective Superintendent Roy Grace faces his most mysterious case yet in the gripping crime novel Need You Dead, by award winning author Peter James.
Lorna Belling, desperate to escape the marriage from hell, falls for the charms of a man who promises her the earth. But, as Lorna soon finds, life seldom follows the plans you’ve made.
When the body of a woman is found, Grace is called to the scene. At first it looks an open-and-shut case with a clear prime suspect. That is, until Grace realizes there is a darker, far more terrifying alternative . .
Although the Roy Grace novels can be listened to in any order, Need You Dead is the thirteenth title in the bestselling series. Enjoy more of the Brighton detective’s investigations with Dead If You Don’t and Dead at First Sight.
Now a major ITV series, Grace, starring John Simm.

A bit complicated
I have read all of the Roy Grace books and find that this one needed more concentration than the others. I shall read it again to award it the extra star.

Roy,Roy, just brilliant!
Time and time again, I listen to stories with Roy Grace the "Old timer" as his mate & fellow detective lovingly refers to him and think this must be the last one! However Peter James somehow comes up trumps producing a best seller every time... This was no exception brilliant, just brilliant and well narrated as always... Come Peter let's get this what must be the final book re "Tooth" and "Casein P" comeuppance!!!!

The story and the narrator The continuity of the story line I've read them all
What was one of the most memorable moments of Need You Dead?
Oh dear I'm afraid the ending I won't spoil it as it doesn't really form part of the main story Just the last few lines kept me up all night watching the ceiling
What does Daniel Weyman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Oh much more makes it come alive Makes it real
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Brilliant as usual
Well done, Peter James, another great Roy Grace story. Suspense & intrigue throughout, with a nice final twist. The introduction of Grace’s son, Bruno, promises to have future storylines to intrigue us. Can’t wait for the next one which, hopefully, will also be narrated by Daniel Weyman.

Brilliant story and narration. Love Peter James.
If you could sum up Need You Dead in three words, what would they be?
Compelling, Funny, Descriptive
What was one of the most memorable moments of Need You Dead?
There is a funeral and the emotions attached to it are very well portrayed.
What about Daniel Weyman’s performance did you like?
Excellent, as always. Easy to discern between the characters.
Any additional comments?
Have read (or listened to) all the Roy Grace books. He is a brilliant character and, although it must be hard for Peter to keep thinking up plotlines within the confines of the Brighton area - and I live nowhere near there - it never distracts from his fantastic storytelling and creation of believable personalities. I never want them to end.
