Summary
An inspiring and laugh-out-loud guide to building the kind of confidence it really takes to live the life of your dreams, from Impact Theory co-founder and growth mindset guru Lisa Bilyeu.
Lisa Bilyeu grew up in London, where she was told her dreams of Hollywood were a little too big for a girl. After all, in her traditional Greek culture, who cared about prestigious awards when you could be a housewife? Lisa cared. Except after graduating from college, meeting the man of her dreams and moving to Los Angeles, a housewife was exactly what Lisa became—for eight years!
Radical Confidence is the story of how Lisa un-paused her life to co-found a company that went from zero to a billion dollars in just five years and become a leader in the world of personal development. Transforming herself with a growth mindset, Lisa learned to face her insecurities and inadequacies, embrace new challenges, solve her own problems, tell her negative voice to shut up and become the hero of her own life by life-hacking her way to feeling confident.
Radical Confidence is deeply personal and filled with insight and practical tools for honest self-assessment, mastering emotions and staying motivated. With humour and honesty, this audiobook teaches you how to be driven by your insecurities to create the life of your dreams.

I really tried to like this book
Full disclosure, I did not manage to finish this book and the bit that I didn't listen to may have been wonderful but the part that I heard was a huge disappointment for me. Lisa had opportunity after opportunity placed neatly in her lap by her husband. Yes, she apparently rose to each challenge (after much Googling) but how many of us have a spouse (or anyone, for that matter) in a position to gift us unlimited chances in life, regardless of our aptitude or ability? Therefore, I do not see how the advice in the book can be of use to the general readership (listenership?). Also, I found Lisa's voice unpleasant so, if you are considering purchasing this book, please listen to the sample first.

Language please
I feel rather badly but find it necessary to write! Spoken slang and writing it don’t often always transfer well. I found the foul language instead of emphasis was just so distracting and limits the target reader audience. Due to the bad and over use of the swearing made me feel dirty somehow and left me low rather than inspired! Please do write again with the emphasis on the message and hopefully you will then reach a really faithful following. I was unable to sieve out the fruit and so put it down. I blame the publishers for their short sightedness. Not a book for those going through hard knocks! A much younger target perhaps but today they tend not to read 👎🙉

Dear Lisa, thank you for your raw honesty with which each of us (especially women) can identify. Powerful!

Its ok, calm down on the nerves and references
don't usually write reviews I wanted to like this book, but the over the top references, dramatised narrative and down play or simplified versions of key skills is just too much. I feel she should be reading her own book. the few moments in the book where you feel she's being genuine in words and tone are great. The whole book was missing that. Lisa is still heavy on Tom and I understand and respect they came up together but I feel it's still missing her. like she shows in interviews (case in point of rich roll's podcast). she has some brilliant insights but it's over shadowed by many things and made it very difficult to listen to. Well done Lisa for writing a book but be nice to feel it's genuinely you.

Not an ordinary self-help book
I love that Lisa wrote this as an autobiography instead of a self-help book like most I have read. I love the no-nonsense, no BS theme she have. And I love her language (I don't care about profanities, I use them myself a lot). I REALLY recommend listening to this! She put my thoughts about my life in another angle, and this is something I can use myself. Thank you! <3

The ‘real talk’ all women need
Absolutely loved this book - I used to think Lisa was one of those lucky people that was born confident so this book was an inspiring breath of fresh air. Thank you!

Very Disappointing
Like other reviews, this is just an autobiography really and a “how good am I ?”… not what it is sold as.. have stopped part way through as just can’t take it anymore…
And BTW Lisa - I am not your “Homie” !!

So disappointing
This book was really an autobiography emphasising how great the author thinks she and her husband are. I stuck with it right to the end waiting for a nugget of inspiration or wisdom, and nothing!

really did not enjoy this book
Honestly found this book hard to finish. It is so all over the place. Stopped at 3 hours and stopped listening.
The contents feels so outdated and the language tries too hard to be cool and funny
No disrespect to the sound of her voice but it would have been better for someone else to have read this book. I am from the UK and find her voice grating so not sure how she sounds to anyone else.
