About this listen

A bicycle crashes into me one night, and the next thing I know, I’m a baby?

Getting reincarnated in another world populated by humans, demi-humans, and mythical beasts is certainly not the turn I thought my life was going to take. I especially didn’t expect to be carried off by a wolf and given into the care of a one-armed former knight. Now, I’m trying to repay him by rebuilding the family inn and healing his arm with alchemy.

But the more time passes, the more it becomes clear to me that I’m not actually human....

Light hearted / headed Slice of life anime

Listening to this feels like watching a fan translated slice of life fantasy Anime, where World building, common sense and the plot takes the back seat as you get to experience a mentally 25 year old girl in a body of a 5 years old act like she is a 10 years old salary men while the voice actress makes weird noises.

love the story so far but the female narrator and guy is just wasted... my god its just 4 is shy 6 is still at 8 then the same crap @ 12... and you are reincarnated soul... just kill me and grown up!!!!! Dad is a Knight that is afraid to raise his daughter with a bit of backbone??? Interested in a woman but asks advice to his kids and then nothing...

Only Consider if you're a Weeb

If you like slice of life anime and manga, this may appeal to you. There isn't much action and the main focus is mostly how cute and quaint everything is.

I can't think of much reason you'd like this story if you were not a fan of stories that were essentially "kawaii for kawaii's sake." If that certainly doesn't apply to you, then definitely look elsewhere.

As for the performance of the story... I think Cassandra Morris was fine. In fact the main reason I got this is because I was intrigued to hear how she'd narrate a book since I'm a massive fan of her English dub work in K-on as Ritsu, and Totori in the Atelier franchise. (Since the MC learns alchemy in the story, if you're an atelier fan, you'll probably be excited by Totori's voice actress doing more kawaii alchemy stuff)
I think she does a serviceable job in her role here, however there is also a male narrator, Graham Halstead.
In other books on this service that have both a male and female narrator, the narrators voice dialogue lines of characters that are the same gender as them.
I tend to like things that way but with this story they don't do that. Instead Graham will voice a chapter and all the characters in it, male and female. Cass voices most of the chapters and when she does, she voices both the female and male characters.
It almost makes me wonder why they got two narrators to do this. Cass could have just done everything.

Overall, I enjoyed it as a relaxing story to play while I'm playing a video game or trying to sleep and there are many ways in which it appeals to my weeb sensibilities. There are many things that just make me roll my eyes while listening though, making the book tough to recommend.
E.g: scenes where the MC has to grab some "pitetoes" from the garden for the narration to say "oh, pitetoes are this fantasy world's potatoes."
My eyes roll out of my skull.
