Summary

I used to be a normal high school girl but in the blink of an eye, I woke up in a place I've never seen before and—and I was reborn as a spider?! How could something that's nothing more than a tiny spider (that's me) possibly survive in literally the worst dungeon ever? Are there no rules? There should be some rules! Who the hell is responsible for this? SHOW YOUR FACE!

Another great adaptation

Without realising until recently this is my sixth Yen Audio audiobook this year. All their adaptations are excellent and this is no exception. I know the main story from the anime version but this is the best way to experience the story.

She does her best but...

...this book is so painfully slow. you're three hours in and practically nothing has happened. we start out in a cave, then we stay in the cave, then we spend some more time in the cave until finally something happens.

So, It's Really Good, So What

The story is really we done, fun, and captivating. But what makes a story even better when buying it on Audible? The Narration. And I must say that this is one of the best narrated audiobooks I've ever listened too, and I'll definitely be buying more from Yen Audio.

Really fun and makes the human side more interesti

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I am reserving that rating for productions that reach the levels of the Monogatari audio books (nearly full casting, ambient tones/music, etc.).

However, the VA did a fantastic job varying her voice and bridging the gap, making it pretty easy to identify which characters were talking and to sound like that character might to the extent it doesn't break your immersion. A real workhorse. Excited for more more. WILL BUY.

REALLY good

I’ve basically been waiting on this ever since I heard of the series years ago. I even listened to the robot audiobooks on YouTube- and this is almost everything I ever wanted. The only real issue I have is the narrators voice for the MC- i love the emotion she put into it, but I wish it was more mature sounding, like some of the other voices she uses. She sounds kinda like twilight sparkle and it’s jarring to listen to for 70% of the book. But that’s just personal preference. Regardless, she has great range and has plenty of unique voices for every character. Def worth it, and I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

narration way too squeaky over long term

she squeaks every voice line of the MC in such an over the top screeching squeeching nails on chalkboard unbearable way ... It's fine for voice lines in a game or every so often, but NOT as the main narration in an audio book.

the book is great.

but I have to lower the audio to a level I barely perceive so my eardrums aren't flayed nonstop. and when she switches voice, I have to massively turn it up.

it's just TOO SHRILL. some lines are incomprehensible squeaking that one can only understand from context.

better than the anime and I loved the anime

honestly I got this because I watched the anime. and I had read there may not be a season 2 and I really wanted to see where the series was going. after seeing on YouTube the people said you should start in the beginning because there's a lot left out of the anime. I'm very happy I did go back and get the first book.

an excellent book.

I watched the anime first but found this later. although the original characters is not quite as silly as her anime counter part she is plenty funny. thier is several nice things in the book that aren't covered in the anime like Shune meeting fay and Katia and figuring out they are reincarnations.

Killed it

Caitlin put her heart into this and it really showed. the characters were well done and easy to distinguish and the little spiders abundance of character was met and surpassed. it was very refreshing especially after listening to some stories where it is obvious they are trying to rush through as fast as possible.
Even if you've watched the anime, I think its still worth a listen. there is better explanation for where and how things came about. more surprising, the human side expounded on things happening and was presented in a way that didn't make me want to skip it like I have with every rewatch of the anime.
overall great job and well worth the listen.

voice actor does an amazing job

the voice actor really does a good job acting out the parts and bringing to life the character.

sometimes it is a little repetitive and can be a bit underwhelming. other parts are action packed. just be ready for a mix of both!
