Summary
Love isn't something I get to wish for. Ten years ago, my nephew was sold to traffickers, and it was my fault. I spent the next decade doggedly searching for him in the most awful places imaginable, unable to stop until I knew he was safe.
I finally track him down to Wild Heart Ranch, an equine therapy center in the heart of Texas with a secret mission to help victims of trafficking. While I get to know the funny, strong, disturbed man my nephew has become, I find comfort and companionship in Levy, the ranch's tattooed, pierced, much younger equine therapist.
My usual one-night-stand protocol isn't holding up, and I can't find it in myself to care. We're kindred spirits, Levy and I, both of us having survived so much. Falling into bed with him is as easy as breathing.
Believing that we both deserve love, however, is the hard part.
Savior Complex is a hot age-gap romance that features a silver fox with a past, an equine therapist with imaginative piercings, and one helluva family reunion.

Prime age gap example
Story: a great age gap story! One of my favorite tropes and I really liked this take on it , even with my not - so - favorite insta-love element. We get cameos from previous books on top of a great plot and epic love development. What more can you ask for?!
Narration: very good performance. Just what the characters needed to shine.

Long Awaited Reunion.
MM, Age Gap, Insta attract, Contemporary, Romance. Binge listen with action from the beginning, full of emotion and steam. Great MC's, best enjoyed as part of the series due to complex back story and how the stories and characters connect with the added bonus of a cornucopia of cameo's from some of our favourites from other series. fantastic narration really brings the characters and their story to life. Guaranteed HEA.

Another perfect delivery
This book is so special, so amazing, in its emotional delivery and its importance. The subject matter is tough to hear, to read, but to see Ant grow through his new relationship with his family, to see Javier and Levi build a beautiful relationship on the heels of a horrible experience is very healing. Kelly Fox delivers her usual gritty, heat filled and emotional punches and Declan Winters breathes his incredible talent into it - a perfect match. Absolutely beautiful book.

Winters brings Fox’s characters to life
Levy and Javier’s story is made even better by the amazing narration of Declan winters. Listening to his smooth Spanish accent just carried me away.
Javier and Levy’s story is so rich and layered and it made me fall in love right along with them.
Typically I’m not a fan of instalove, but this was so organic that I felt the possibilities the characters were falling into. Every incremental move forward in their relationship made sense, as did the bigger leaps.
Fox is sensitive to Ant’s and Levy’s trauma (& tries to be conscious of the potential trauma bombs Ant can leave in his wake).
As always, Fox excels with found family, snarky dialogue, complex inter-relationships and examining the darker side of humanity while highlighting Hope.

Readjustments
Javier is a bit like John Wayne's character in The Searchers. He's been relentlessly tracking his abducted and trafficked nephew, Ant, for years and become famous among those also engaged in taking down traffickers as "The Ghost". Fortunately, for Ant he's been rescued by the folks at Wild Heart Ranch and has begun to deal with all the trauma of his past. When Javier finds him at the ranch, both of them have some serious adjustments to make as Javier has to accept the new man Ant has become and the fact that his life's goal is basically over now that Ant is safe. As Javier tries to figure out who he is now and where he goes from here he falls for the ranch's equine therapist Levy. The emotions run high in this one because Ant's and Javier's experiences have left them skittish, defensive, on edge and trying to adjust to safety. Levy has his own demons to deal with, but fortunately his experience with horses has also taught him how to help Ant and Javier. It was wonderful to see everyone here start to heal. Loved Declan Winters performance here. It was nuanced and brought out each character’s complex personality and the difficult times they had readjusting to their new lives as well as the joy and peace they began to find.

Wow
First off - THAT COVER IS SMOKIN HOT! As for the story within - Wow! Javier & Levy, sizzling chemistry, great connection, good communication - it's everything around them that hits the fan & they dive in together. No spoilers, but there's also Erik & Ant, cameos out the wazoo, action-packed adventures of the rescue variety, hot water, hot times, high emotions, heartache, heartbreak & reunification. This is the grittier of Kelly's series, but equally as amazing & humorous, full of love & found family & fighting for life, physical, emotional, mental. Life. Fantastic story-telling, awesome characters, collaborations, cameos - one wild ride for all involved. Can't wait to see how the rest plays out, it promises to be quite entertaining, educational, emotional and exhausting lol. Can't wait!!
Declan Winters has once again blown me away with his fantastic portrayal of all of Kelly's characters, the various accents, quirky personalities, and so much emotion! Loved it, and can't wait for more from him and this combination of author/narrator specifically. Amazing!
