Summary

A sacrifice made. A Primordial defeated. The hard part starts now.

Felix had risked everything to stop the threat of the Unending Maw. Except instead of death, he and his Companion Pit were transported to the deadly Void, a place far worse than the Foglands. The Maw is there with them, bonded somehow to Felix in a way none of them understand, but all of them hate.

The three must navigate the desolate expanse of the dark Void, contending with voidbeasts, marauders, and the creeping influence of the Maw itself. It will take everything that Felix has—and more—merely to survive, let alone escape.

All choices have consequences.

An Excellent Follow Up!

This book continues Felix's and Pit's adventures, but this time they are in the emptiness of the Void.
Full of non stop fighting from beginning to end.
I really enjoyed this book, Travis Baldree's narration is brilliant, as always.
Waiting for the next one!

I LOVE THE BOOK BUT

The story is too short the first time it left of a 🙃cliffhanger🙃 but the second time ther is not enough skill processing.

suggestions

He is unbound give him a 7% chance of no bebuff and and he should become more unbound or bound at will to things like gravity and or give him a spiritual body that negates %physical attacks, restrictions of skills like skill froming should become more broken 😉 overpowered and laws of nature can be broken by his will to an extent of course.

Magician? Increased Intelligence? Perfect Memory?

This over-powered MC is kind of an idiot. Stop face-tanking stuff and use some of your OP ranged skills. He doesn’t even have cooldowns and can basically make his own spells(which he completely forgets) but saves strong skills/spells. To make it worse he’s tanking stuff sucks his mana away. And that plot-armored foreshadowing is straight up BS. It just has you waiting for the obvious set-up that really didn't make sense and was just written in for dramatic effect. Seems like a lot of thought was put into the writing but some of the connecting pieces were left to the wayside with little thought. But that ended up infecting much of the story with that feeling of "when is this obvious thing going to happen so we can move on". MC also avoids fixing clear problems until things are as dramatic as they can be.

lots of problems

While this book is exciting in its own way, it falls short.

Aside from literally being half the length of the first book and feeling like half a book anyway. The MC seems to get dumber for sake of the plot.

He learned he had to fix his skills, by going into his car, then he picks up blocks of stone in his core with his strength? Instead of using his will? Really?

Then there is connection to the Maw. she's only there to have someone explain things to him. As well as someone annoying so we don't aim our frustration at the MC.

I would have been perfectly happy if she just died in the first one. There is nothing I hate more than an antagonist who overstays their welcome.

All that being said, I'll give this series one more shot. This book felt transitory. Hopefully the next one gets on with it.

Keeps you wanting more - Great world building

The entire series so far is such a great foundation of world building that I just want more and more. So many questions at the end of this book it really feels like we are learning about this world as Felix does. So much fun following a MC that, even when severely nerfed, is crazy over powered yet always feels like he is running for his life.

After book 1 this really feels like half a book.

I think the writing overall is pretty good. there isn't anything in particular I think is actually all together that bad. The real problem comes in the fact that this book is half the length of the first. Now I'm not saying the book needed to be twice its length to be good. The real issue is that the story is structured and paste the same as the first book. This leaves the book feeling like all build up with almost no payoff.

Waste of a book

Plot armor, broken skills, dumb MC, broken mechanics and no push for the main story this book falls short of the mark

Filler

Not much here to drive the underlined plot here, just the mc constantly running for his life and arguing with the maw that the author saddled the mc with.

Don't get me started on the MC's unlimited mana pool he seems to have.

Here, there be pirates!

Silence

Felix sacrificed himself to stop the Maw. Only it hadn’t worked as expected. He ended up inside the desolate wasteland, known as the void, stuck with a much weakened version of the Maw. Now, he needs to find a way out of the Void and separate, destroy, or contain the Maw. Oh, and there are void pirates…

This is turning out to be an excellent series! Book two is just as strong as book one. An interesting new mechanic is introduced that will likely play a huge part of book three or four. I’m really looking forward to the next one! Naturally, Travis Baldree does a phenomenal job.

The Void Calls

Hours in and I am still hooked on the dynamic between the characters. Also Travis is as amazing as ever, keep up the enthralling work.

Side story

This is an ok book and more of a side story before the MC gets back to the main plot. Seems early for this or maybe the solo nature of the books is how this is written. I want more character interaction personally. It feels like a lot has been written, but the main plot is less defined. A lot of progression with little guidance.
