Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

Summary
Knowledge is power. That would be the motto of Lander University, had it not been snatched up and used to death by others long before the school was founded. For while Lander offers a full range of courses to nearly all students, it also offers a small number of specialty classes to a very select few.
Lander is home to the Hero Certification Program, a curriculum designed to develop student with superhuman capabilities, commonly known as Supers, into official Heroes. Five of this year’s freshmen are extra special. They have a secret aside from their abilities, one that they must guard from even their classmates. Because for every one person in the world with abilities they can control, there are three who lack such skill. These lesser super beings, Powereds as they are called, have always been treated as burdens and second class citizens. Though there has been ample research in the area, no one has ever succeeded in turning a Powered into a regular human, let alone a Super.
That is, until no....…

Super Powereds: Year One Dramatised Adaptation review by Albert Anness
Absolutely outstanding! Having read the original audio book my feeling on the story remain the same. The thrilling and captivating story and writing. The likeable and diverse cast of characters and this well thought out world the writer bought to life.
This book takes it to a new level- the sound effects and editing make it all sound real and isn't kidding when it says a movie in your mind as I can picture it all perfectly. The cast too was outstanding and put so much emotion and heart into their performance capturing the characters and their state. It was also really well casted with characters such as Nick, Alice, Mary, Mr. Transport, Mr. Numbers, Herschel, Roy, Dean Blaine, Coach George etc. My only complaint would be that I wasn't 100 percent sure on some of the casting for the voices such as Vince or Will, don't get me wrong the actors were amazing I just didn't feel their voices suited the characters, although that's probably just my opinion anyway.
Overall I really enjoyed this audio production and would highly recommend it to anyone interested particularly in the Superpowereds books.

Dramatized Format/Adaption worth adding to library
If you want to know if this title is worth the credit, the answer is yes! Only get the complete version with all the parts as one, however. The full cast, sound effects, and other additions make it fun and exciting to listen to.
Is this version better than the other version? no. it isn't worse either. I think the decision on which to get should be based on your taste in how audiobooks are done. Here are a few reasons for both:
The Dramatized version can be distracting. If you do not know the story already, I can see people having to rewind to catch stuff the sound effects distract from.
There are dialogue changes to the Dramatized version that are well done.
Although the original Narrator did a 5-star job, the cast is too large and many of the characters didn't sound right. My best example is the Steel girl. In the original narration, she sounds overly masculine, likely due to the Narrator being unable to fit yet another female voice into his list. Having a full cast allows for the different voices that are appropriate to the characters.
In the dramatized version, however, there are voices/voice actors whose performance was not what I expect after hearing the first version so many times. An example here is Nick. He didn't sound the same. This isn't the new voice actor's shortcoming, just too different from what I expected. Other voices also don't seem to match the history of who the character is. Roy needs to be more Southern while Sally sounds southern but she's from the midwest.
Lastly, why I gave this an overall 3-star. it's two reasons, both of which are about the production of the final product. First, I will NOT spend three credits on one book so this part 1 of 3 stuff is out. It feels like a cash grab. Lastly, when all three parts are placed into one volume, it is annoying to hear three end credits. those sections should be cut.
TL;DR: This is worth getting, even if you have the first set.

Not a fan
So this is pretty simple, if you've never listened to the series, you'll probably like this. If you have, you probably won't be as big if a fan. The characters seem all wrong for the way they are written. Roy doesn't sound like he is from the south, Mary does.. Vince doesn't sound right, Nick feels all wrong. Mr. Transport and Numbers aren't British, nor is Dean Blain. Who ever did the voice casting didn't read the books, nor did the voice actors.
Can't give this more than 1 out of 5, and would refund in an instant if I could.

Somehow better than the original
This series was made for the Graphic Audio format. I own both versions, and while the first was good, full cast with music and effects really makes this story glow. The heart of a his series is the characters, and this audio style spotlights that. If you like superheroes, multilayered characters with heart, and young adults coming into their own m, this story is absolutely for you. I look forward to buying the rest of these books again in full cast. Hands down one of my favorite comfort reads.

Loves the book, this made a great second experience
I’ve read the whole series, and it was fantastic. I highly recommend reading it for full enjoyment. Great update to the book
Biggest issue with the original was the narrator couldn't have as many unique voices for characters, due to how many there were. This really fixed it. I'll have to listen to the original to see what they cut out to shorten the story too. 10 hours shorter than the original release. But the dramatization was done well so worth a listen. I will only buy the complete dramatizations tho, none of this part 1 of 3.
Hoping a new story in this universe comes out.

Great Book & Performance, But Littered With Ads!
I really love this series by Drew Hayes. Since this version, with the voice acting is excellent. However, they have chosen to keep the audiobook separated into 3 parts.
After each part their is a break in the book with credits and advertisements for other books. I find that this editing choice inexcusable.
I bought the book. Please don't stop narration to try and sell me other books on the middle of the text.

first half was worse than the other audiobook here
First half of the book had every male figure in authority sound as deep as Darth Vader and one with constant distortion like he was on an old speaker every scene no matter the context. In the second half it was fixed and people sounded like people and the vocal effects were fixed.
