Summary

All Michael Hollister wanted was death. What he got was time travel.

Convicted of murder, and with nothing left to live for, Michael commits suicide in his jail cell in 1977, then opens his eyes in 1966, in his eight-year-old body, with all memories of his previous life intact.

His first thoughts are of the dark intentions of his father. When the man who raised him once again tries to do the unthinkable, Michael has a chance to right his childhood's greatest wrong. But, can he do that without becoming a killer all over again?

Includes a special bonus note read by the author.

Fantastic! (one mild spoiler below)

I enjoyed this so much better than the first book, which was by no means a bad book.
The narration is very good too.
I wasn't sure what to expect, because the bulk of the story being set in a military school doesn't sound very appealing to me.
But it really didn't let the story down and I came to like the characters at the school.
I hope the rest of the series lives up to the standard of book 2.

Guilty Pleasure

Having read/listened the first in the series and really enjoyed it - I wondered how Michael Hollister could possibly find redemption.
Having a new narrated for the second book was a bit of a surprise as book one had been narrated so well, I thought. Still, as this was a different character it was no time before I was totally engrossed in the story and loving every moment but it was way to short and now I am only glad that this is but the beginning.
Too often I can see how the plot line is going to progress, this doesn't take away from the story but it is much more fun when the storyline takes a turn you're just not expecting and Shawn Inmon has been about to do this for me.
Highly recommend this series to all!!!
Now go away - I want to get on with book 3...….

Could not stop listening

Really enjoyed part 2 of this series. I was thinking this might have ended up like a cat and mouse style with Michael on the run but was pleasantly surprised. Really felt for Michael in parts of the book and to me that proves how good this is.

Didn't think I'd enjoy the story but did

The story picks up from book 1 and follows a serial killer. From listening to book 1 I was left hating Michael and wasn't sure where the story would go. Ended up rooting for Michael and enjoying the easy listen story.

Fantastic story, had me gripped all the way through, was unsure where the author would take this character but very satisfying.

unable to stop listening

"The Redemption of Micahel Hollister" is the second book in the Middle Falls Time Travel Series. You will read this book because, if you are like me, you gobbled up Shawn Inmon's first book in this series, "The Unusual Second LIfe of Thomas Weaver."

I enjoy time travel stories and this series is one of the best. I highly recommend this series if you are looking for a book binge! I could not stop listening - great job Mr. Inmon!

No Way

I went from "Dude, why the heck does Michael Hollister need his own book" to "Oh Em Gee, that poor kid..."
This story did a great job transforming Michael from the previous book into a decent human being. My heart broke for Max at the end as I have a brother who is mentally disabled and I imagined how he would react in a similar situation...
I'm so glad I found these books!
Thanks Shawn Inmon!!!!!

As Good as the First Part

So the author is taking this one town and working with characters that interface in large and small ways with each other in different versions of reality. I'm a big time traveler fan (I might even tell you I'm a time traveler but would have no way to prove it so I won't). The best part about any time travel story are the characters that you can relate to and who have realistic reactions to the situation. Honestly it's more of a reincarnation story but I suppose the line blurs. Real solid story and characters. I recommend it. Not heavy at all in the Sci-Fi Fantasy which is my favorite kind.

Book 1 was good, this book was incredible.

As a person who grinds through 8 books a month or more this was one of the best to date. not even type of book, just well developed characters you will connect to. just the right number of characters and every one distinct and 100% real. Really great work by this author I am new to.

WOW

I am surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. because I like the author found myself hating Michael Hollister by the end of book 1. Then the author decides to make me root for Michael Hollister OMG! Boy did I ever find myself rooting for a guy that I truly hated by the end of book 1 the guy was an animal. The author does a great job of describing what made Michael Hollister tick and why he was so angry. To say I enjoyed this book is an understatement I absolutely loved this book and love the story of redemption it tells. I will recommend it to anyone who feels Unworthy of forgiveness.

Second book was just as entertaining as First

This is the second in the Middle Falls Time Travel series. I totally didn't see the direction the author was going to take me, but I'm so glad I was along for the journey. I won't say more because I don't want to give anything away, but I will say it is worth it! AND, I received another trailer/teaser for book 3!

I can appreciate that this series doesn't repeat the same formula from book to book. I liked that. The characters are well written and the story lines are fresh. Very entertaining.

Narrator Johnathan McClain was perfect for the voice of Michael Hollister. Excellent storytelling! I will definitely listen to another audiobook production with him performing.

Lacking depth

I was disappointed in this book compared to the first. I was hoping that the author would dive deeper into the psychological aspects of the main character. This story is well written but doesn’t deal with how Michael truly escaped his violent tendencies.

The second chance I wish I had

I loved the way Shawn inmon broaches the delicate but important subject. I don’t want to give away too much. In his first life he acted out it terrible ways, but in his 86th life he gets it right. This book WILL make you think what you did with your life and how to change what you can to make it better for yourself and others! I equate this author in league with Jody Picoult. Maybe even better!

MIddle Falls Book Two

This is book two of the so-far fourteen book Middle Falls Time Travel series. The main character in this second book, Michael Hollister, is the antagonist from the first book, which is why I decided to read on. I had to find out what made this horrible person tick, and how he could possible be redeemed.

I liked this book better than the first book, the redemption was truly worth reading about and satisfying. There were a few happenings in the book that didn't make sense to me, though, and lessened my interest in Michael's story. During the course of the novel he was between eight and eighteen/nineteen and was living this life with full knowledge of his prior lives, world events, etc., but didn't seem to use this knowledge except in excelling in school. Also, his dad was a disgusting individual and sexually abusive to Michael but for some reason Michael didn't feel the need to reveal this horrific criminal behavior to anyone else. Michael decided to get him back in this life by vandalizing one of his beloved personal items. Huh? I just couldn't fathom this. He could've had this dangerous man put away.

Like in the first book there were short interludes with supernatural beings who were monitoring / guiding the lives of the characters. A little bit more was revealed about them in this novel and I'm guessing the purpose and motivations of them will be revealed eventually if I were to continue with the series but for now they were just an uninteresting distraction from the main plot.
