About this listen

A physics student’s talents are put to the test when he’s transported to a world of magic and alchemical mysteries in the first book of a new fantasy series.

Fact one: Edwin Maxlin has fallen out of the sky and landed in a strange forest. Fact two: messages keep appearing in his line of vision, informing him that he has leveled up in various Skills—including some truly thrilling abilities such as Walking and Breathing. Fact three: this is most definitely not Earth.

Now Edwin, one-time student of material physics, must make his way through an unknown world, collecting Skills, upgrading his Class, embarking on life Paths, and most importantly, staying alive. But surviving in the land of Joriah isn’t as simple as increasing mana and learning how to become a Firestarter.

Edwin soon finds himself going toe-to-toe with an angry clan of dwarves and their even more disgruntled ruler, Lord S’fashkchlil. It will take all of Edwin’s wit, ingenuity, mathematical know-how, and charm to form new alliances, navigate a complicated political landscape, and keep from getting enslaved by Clan Blackstone. Fortunately, his otherworldly expertise is even more valuable than Edwin realizes…

Filled with humor, adventure, and unforgettable characters, The Way Ahead is a must-listen for fans of epic fantasy, role-playing games, and the scientific method.

Has potential, decent story but I dont like the MC

The Narrator is famos, I honestly bought the title because I really like to listen to him. While the book starts slow and leave you wondering at times why things are as they are, I listend because I liked the story. I saw this potentially developing in a good way. But as many people mentioned: The actions of the MC are hard to understand sometimes and they feel so random.

I want to like this book, for I am a huge Fan of LitRPG. And even if I overlook some of the details, after 11 hours it was a bit too much for me. I listend to the end, its ok, but I will not pick up the second book.

Amazing

I'm honestly not sure why there's been luke warm reception to his book. The story has been well written and the main character has been interesting to follow along with - additionally the system is fun to learn about. The narrator has done a great job, I thought I recognised the performance from another series I'd heard and I was correct!

Yeah not so good unfortunately

I preordered this as it sounded awesome. The concept of the story was great, but it’s really badly executed and bizzare, found myself sleeping thorough it twice

Get on with it

Spent the first 2 hours thinking “ok fine but what is the point “ “why do I care” “so what” and in the end just “get on with it “ over and over again. I am so bored... it’s getting 30 more minutes then it’s going back.

Ok got to the end of chapter 9 and i'm done.
