Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Trust Me by Lesley Pearse, read by Sally Scott.

She lost her parents and then was sent far, far away....

When their father tragically kills their mother, Dulcie and her sister are sent to an orphanage. Told that a 'better life' awaits them in another country, they are shipped off to Australia.

But the promises made to the sisters turn out to be lies.

And it seems to Dulcie that everyone who ever said 'trust me' somehow betrayed that trust. So when she meets Ross, another orphanage survivor, and finds he is a kindred spirit, hope swells in her heart.

But can she ever get over the past betrayals and learn to trust again? And can she fight not only for herself but also for her sister?

Wow! what a Powerful Story

Beautifully written book and wonderfully narrated, it will live with me forever, it's so sad that it's based on true facts that are still being proven today. Thank you Lesley I so love all your books I've ever Listened to.

Easy listening

Enjoyed this book. Lesley Writes nice books but there was an element of the story which I thought didn’t make sense and wanted another direction. I also read Belle from Lesley which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Harrowing

This book is a necessary read. Although it is a story shown through fictional characters it must never be forgotten that it has a factual basis.

magnificent

a stark look into the abuse of children in orphanages run by cruel nuns and brothers.
this is very disturbing and makes you count your blessings it was not you at the hands of the loveless and careless nuns.
it is a relief when the children are old enough to leave and you find yourself sighing with relief for these unfortunate children, who are damaged as a result of the treatment by the nuns and brother.

One of Lesley Pearce Best

This is the most moving of the Lesley Pearce books I have read and has prompted me to research the background it is built on. You feel the emotions of the characters and want to keep on listening.

WOW

Well written book by Lesley Pearce. Narrated very well . I have read and listened to many books and for the first time I wept genuine tears while listening to the after note . Hard book to listen to with some awful things happening to children but they had to written in to show how bad it was for the orphans . Well done on a brilliant book . Really is worth a listen and make sure you listen to the after note
