About this listen

Fall in love with all three Way of the Immortals books in one easy box set!

Dragged into an unknown world by a dangerous portal, Nick Barnette and his friends get torn from their lives. Separated and disoriented, Nick is pursued by powerful forces he doesn’t understand before he can even catch his breath.

Discovering a powerful but unreliable ability, Nick must cultivate this new strength in order to reunite with his friends and get them all home. All while fighting for his life at every turn.

His quest will take him all across this treacherous world, from the forests to the mountains, across deadly deserts, and perilous seas.

Bringing a fresh perspective to the Kingdom of Lhasa, Nick might be the most unconventional hero this world has ever seen - and the entrenched powers-that-be are definitely not going to let him run unchecked.

Way of the Immortals is a fast-paced cultivation series weaving Bhutanese and Tibetan lore into a novel that xianxia, wuxia, LitRPG, and progression fantasy listeners will love.

Highly enjoyable and good value too

Beyond the value of getting all three books in one set, the more important thing about this audiobook is that it is a highly entertaining story with an engaging cast of characters. The author avoids falling into the easy trap of the main character being too overpowered, while he has some extremely powerful abilities, they still have their limitations and he must work hard to develop them over the course of the books.

The narrators performance was a good one, further helping to draw the listener in and nicely enhancing the series, the main cast definitely felt a lot more distinctive than the supporting cast though.

Overall, an enjoyable series of books and I hope to listen to more of them in the future.

Cultivation Excellence

A great cultivation series by Cooper as we explore a fantasical mythical world where we expand out our skills in a surprisingly intensive read.
Although this is Coopers first foray into the cultivation series it mixes his personal experience of familiar Bhutanese and Tibetan lore into interesting fast-paced stories that will appeal to Xianxia, Wuxia, LitRPG, and progression fans.
With other bestsellers under his belt this writing works well and as a boxset a bargain as over 27hours of Nick , Rodger etc and their otherworld experiences of an emotional journey make this a must buy.
Hellegers is wonderful as he has done work before for Cooper and does the same with this.

Loved it

At first, I wasn’t so sure on this, with so much going on at times but once I got into the story line I loved it ! Narrator does a brilliant job and it is very easy to tell who is talking when. Filled with action and interesting characters and plot. The fact it’s all 3 books together in one purchase is excellent. Didn’t want to stop listening and def didn’t want to get to the end of book 3! Hopefully more books will follow as I would really like to continue this story and I am curious to what the author has planned.

A Fascinating Story

Full of Harmon's usual humor and quirky characters with loads of action and world building. The wuxia and cultivation aspects are beautifully realised. Hopefully we will hear more from Nick Barnett and friends. Neil Hellegers does a fantastic job of bringing the story to life.

Disappointing

Struggled to finish , nice concept with lots of tedious padding. Roger!! Why??
Took this based on reviews but it was not my cup of tea, some out there love it and you may too.
A triology box set : beginning: ok, middle: padding, ending: no ending, just a load of unanswered questions.

Boring and cliched

Even if a book is rubbish it is rare for me not to finish it. This book seems to be an exception. Barely managed over half of it before deciding I would be happier bashing my head against a tree than listening on.

Weird thing is, it’s hard to say what exactly is wrong with it. It’s just feels beyond unoriginal and lazy in world and plot design. The story and characters are so bland as to be literally offensive
