Story
Ever wonder what happened to the Isekai’d gamer who found himself incarnated into the overweight body of a LitRPG farmer, only to spit in the face of destiny and earn more money and experience than anyone ever dreamed possible? Fairytales would have you believe he lived happily ever after, but life doesn’t always match up to fairytale endings. Accidentally murdered by a cleric in another universe during a botched resurrection, Arnold, a semi-pro gamer turned clerical error, has now become a thorn in the vindictive Northern Regent’s side.

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

A world on the precipice of the apocalypse. A secret forged in the flames of war. A chance to start over. For John Sutton, only one of those three things matters. Retired from a decade of brutal war, he wants nothing more than a quiet pastoral life while he does his best to stem the steady increase of his Doom Points before they hit 100, signaling the start of the end. Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

Callum had seen things all his life. There are monsters and beasts living among people, but he learned very early not to admit such things, not if he didn’t want people to think him crazy. It turns out that the supernatural is real, but at 30, Callum has no desire to be part of that secret. Not that he has a choice when it turns out he is a mage, albeit one that hasn’t cast any spells in all his life. There are requirements, duties, and education that the powers that be insist he be subject to. To hell with that.

Really Excellent book

Summary
What do you have when you blend a pinch of LitRPG, a touch of farming simulator, a sprinkle of epic fantasy, a whole cup of Isekai, and a dash of Home Alone? You have Arnold’s life.
Accidentally murdered by a cleric in another universe during a botched resurrection, Arnold, a semi-pro gamer, wakes upon an altar to find himself incarnated into the overweight body of a farmer who could have been his fatter twin. He’s not the hero. He’s not the villain. He’s certainly not the chosen one who is there to save the world. He’s a clerical error.
It could be a bad joke, but apparently, it happens so often that they have a standard procedure for returning you. That standard procedure doesn't apply to Arnold.
Now stuck on a new Earth, in a new universe, with no way home, Arnold must use his gaming skills to figure out how to level his farmer class to 100 and gain a second class which doesn't make him want to beat his head against the wall. There is just one small problem: Farmers don't gain experience from killing monsters. Like at all.
Follow Arnold on his hilarious journey as he stubbornly comes to grips with his new reality and tries to change his destiny from that of your typical farmer.

Sorry to say this one was a rare DNF
I wanted to like this, it seemed an interesting angle on the litRPG genre but after eight hours of listening I just can’t face anymore; the MC is unlikeable (I almost gave up in the first chapter when he hits a child) and lacks emotional depth - there is one brief attempt to show he has feelings but it is very brief, and unsuccessful. The plot is slow and doesn't seem to really be going anywhere and in light of there being a sequel I suspect there will be no real resolution to the story. Things may improve later on in the tale but I feel that eight hours is more than enough to give it a fair try and it hasn't impressed. Travis Baldree does excellent voice work, though the protagonist’s drawl started to grate on me. There is some great gamelit out there but this isn’t it. Try Dungeon Crawler Carl instead.

pre ordered the next one
I've read a lot of litrpg books like the land, good guys, bad guys series and so on and this didn't quite fit my usual go too for this genre, after reading a few reviews I decided to go for it and I'm glad I did. Normally it would take me a few weeks to get through a book however I've absolutely smashed this one and finished it in under a week... As I've loved it that much! to the point I've pre ordered the next one! so if you're wondering whether to pull the trigger I say, go for it! you'll be surprised

Really enjoyed this book!
So. I had heard about this book, but I held off on listening to it because I thought.. A book about farming!? I read other peoples reviews and everyone loved it so I tried it.
Thank you to everyone who reviewed it! This book is amazing and without you I would have skipped over it. The story is Great it had me hooked quickly, it's very funny and a well thought out concept, a unique story about a class nobody wants! The author should be very proud of the book. I am definitely going to listen to the next book as soon as it is available after I listen to this book again!
The narrator Travis Baldree as always is amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed his performance, he is amazing!
Congratulations to the both of you for a amazing story. Highly recommend by me if you love this genre of books and if you don't I would say give it a go anyway! Loved it! 5*

Not bad, but not as good as the hype suggests.
I normally try to write well rounded and fully explained reviews, but I don’t have that in me right now. Apologies in advance for this abbreviated review...
This book is worth the credit, but based on the reviews so far you’d think it was the best new Gamelit series to come out this year... It’s not. This is an entertaining book that has some interesting points, but its MC can be annoying and often does and says things for plot reasons rather than because it’s something the character would actually do.
There are also pacing and plotting issues, clarity problems, and odd jumps in the timeline.
So really, I’m saying this audiobook is better than most of the drivel that needs to be sorted through in the LitRPG/Gamelit genre, and you should probably spend the credit. Just don’t let the irrationally inflated ratings set your expectations too high.

A very enjoyable LITRPG
I only give reviews for books that I enjoy and would reread/relisten to. This means that I almost exclusively rate books 5 stars. That does not mean that this book is a masterwork. It does mean the I enjoyed the story and would love for the author to be able to write more. Give it a listen if you’re a fan of the genre as it is definitely better than a majority of what gets published as LITRPG. I loved Travis Baldree’s narration as always. He is, in my opinion, one of the best in the business.

Stopped at the worst time
Trying my best not to spoil anything but it makes it a bit vague. I’m taking a break because I am annoyed at the time suck and plot excuse that happening so far into the book. It’s pathetic and annoying to listen to the MC being pulled out of story and character nearing a major set of climactic points to pretty much waste time creating and then dismissing a massive plot hole.
