Farewell to Perez
Sad to hear the last of the Shetland series but well wound up. I came late to the books having watched the tv series which are very different in the Cassie/Fran back story but equally enjoyable. Kept me guessing to the end and as usual very well read by Kenny Blyth. Recommended.

Scenery, characterisation, plot. Imagination.

Another good listen
I really enjoyed this book. It kept me guessing all the way through. I love how there’s no waffle and extended descriptions of what things look or should be. It’s a straight forward experience to listen the these stories. I enjoyed every word. Sad this is the end or is it?

Goodbye, Jimmy.
The last in the Shetland series, and I think the author has chosen the right time to end it. We can’t be far off 20 murders in 5 years, which is approaching Midsomer levels. I loved Kenny Blyth’s narration, as always. But I am getting a bit bored with the background misogyny from the author. She’s pretty unpleasant about so many of her female characters. The constant banging on about women being too noisy, too successful, too pushy, too much to blame for everything, is wearing. (And feels outdated).

Very Enjoyable - Kept Me Guessing Right To The End
This was actually the first Ann Cleeves novel I had read and listened to…I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the characters and best of all the narrator. I am a big fan of the Shetland TV series and have visited Shetland on holiday and the story was so vivid to me especially many of the locations. The narrator was superb. I started at the end of the series of novels so will now have to return to where it all started and I’m looking forward to it.
