Important information for anyone who wants to be healthy

I came to this book via Philip Shepherd’s book “Deep Fitness” - I think the science is crucial and that everyone should know what is written here.

superb

Another excellent book on audible very informative with lots of tips backed by science. The biggest takeaway I got from this was you don't need to train as much as you think to reap the benefits and results.

it has some very dubious studies

the majority of the studies referenced is related to men under the age of 30! that is the peak of human growth period and as a man with little hormonal change throughout their life, the once a week frequency for (strength) exercise seems actually only applicable to men under age 30. I stopped listening to the book after chapter 5. it is not a well researched read at all. I suggest reading Dr Gabrielle Lyon if you are a woman over the age of 30.

Dubious theoretical exercise book

Once I started listening to this book I became very sceptical of the contents. Doing only 12 minutes a week exercising and then resting a full week is supposed to increase your gains instead of proven x times a week training.
It seems the person who wrote this book took a bunch of studies by other and in theory this would prove to be the best way to exercise. Things like cardio exercise will not help you lose weight or have any benefit for your cardiovasculair system
The worst part was when this comment came:
"People who have to undergo chemotherapy should gain a lot of muscle mass so that afterwards they can use those muscles during recovery phase"
It's difficult enough for healthy people to gain muscle mass, let alone people who are already sick with cancer. This advise is simply insane!
I still finished the book but this advise alone makes this book not worth your time. It only let's you believe what people want, train less to gain more. I can't help but wonder about the reviews where people say this book is full of helpful information, did they really even listen to the book?
