Summary

*The fresh, frank and very funny new novel from Dawn O’Porter – CAT LADY – is available to buy now*

Dawn O’Porter has been thinking a lot about life.
Mostly from a cupboard (and she’s definitely not hiding from her children).

Fearless, funny and unflinchingly real, Life in Pieces is a diary of a time we’ll all remember forever – laughing through the tears, finding comfort in the chaos and (in Dawn’s case, at least) discovering the life-changing properties of a midday margarita.

So if you need a shake-up in your life, here’s the tonic – with a perfect splash of tequila…

‘What should you expect? Tears, belly laughs and to come out the other side wanting Dawn O’Porter to be your best friend’ Marie Claire

‘I've rattled through it . . . Dawn O'Porter redresses the balance by telling it as it really has been: fighting a losing battle against a tide of mess, noise and need, and holding out for 5pm to crack open the tequila’ Mark Watson

‘It is very funny but also intimate and honest’ Louis Theroux

‘Poignant and funny’ Red

‘I've rattled through it . . . There's been a lot of well-meaning but mad advice on how to contend with the strangest period of human history any of us has ever lived through. Dawn O'Porter redresses the balance by telling it as it really has been, for many of us: holding out for 5pm to crack open the tequila’ Mark Watson

Honest, moving and funny.

Loved this book. Bought 2 hardbacks for friends for Christmas. A very honest, open and moving account of 2020. Despite distance, was a comfort to realise we are all the same regardless of status. Loved how funny and relatable her parenting methods and children are. Was moved to tears in parts I wanted to hug her and other times I laughed so much I needed a tenna lady!
Look forward to reading more by the author.

Funny, raw, honest and witty

This was a brilliant listen that made me laugh out loud and sob uncontrollably all at once. A touching and honest recount of grief, parenting, isolation and a deep love of food....

Absolutely Gorgeous!

I loved the book and devoured it over a weekend (with a couple of margaritas). A definite listen regardless of what your lockdown experience was like - you are sure to relate in many ways and laugh, wince and cry at the rest!

First ever audio book and a great one to start with

I have never purchased an audio book but my eyes aren’t so great these days so thought I would give it a go. I have followed Dawn on social media for years and always loved what she had to say as she always seemed “real”.
I’m not sure what I expected from the book but it listened to it on holiday. I sat by the pool laughing and crying and reflecting on my own lockdown experiences. I also feel inspired to cook more and maybe have more tequila. Great read (listen).

Love Dawn

At first I was like gee she drinks more than me & is this all about getting drunk. A little but it's way more. She lost a best friend too. I loved it by the end. Her narrating it, helped massively too.

A wonderful collection of life and all it brings.

A great book to get stuck into. Authentic, funny poignant and at times heartbreaking.
