Story
Kate Lawler has never been maternal. And yet here she is: mother to Noa, after years of going back and forth about having children at all. This is the story of her journey from parentally undecided to early motherhood, via raging hormones, sleepless nights, emergency hospital trips, mum guilt, unspoken regrets and post-natal depression. This book is not a parenting manual. It won't tell you what to pack in your hospital bag, or how to get your baby to sleep. It may not help you with feeding or dealing with tantrums. But it will show you that you're not alone.

Her message is clear: not everyone is a perfect mum with a nice house, a steady marriage and 2.5 children. We lead messy, complicated lives. For Rachaele, blogging is about shining a light on very real ups and downs (from having fun with your beautiful kids and watching them grow to meltdowns, domestic violence, bullying and more).

Laura Belbin survived hitting her 30s (oh, to be wrinkle-free again), anxiety (just), motherhood (two adorable little shits) and the new body that went with it (a left tit that sags slightly more than the right, anyone?). In Knee Deep in Life she gives a fearless and filthy account of her transformation from no-responsibilities woman to being in demand 24/7, the heartaches and humiliations, and most importantly, her (definitely-pushed-to-the-limits-but-totally-indestructible) marriage to Steve.

People 'know' my on-stage comedy persona or my scripted ballsy characters and wrongly assume that, at home, I must stomp around all day in designer dresses, eviscerating those who dare to cross my path and denouncing the existence of men in general. The Audacity is my chance to share my blueprint for just that.

Creator, mother, lover, and social media phenomenon Tova Leigh explores what the hell you are supposed to do when you find yourself living a life you don't remember signing up for. I was bored, angry, tired, and sad. I felt all alone yet I had nothing to complain about. I had a good job, a husband who wasn't shagging his assistant, three children who apart from being the occasional a**holes were pretty good kids; a house, a dog, and everything else we are told as little girls we should aspire to. But inside, I was growing restless.

Summary
Welcome to the jungle....
When you’ve grown up thinking your 20s are all about working hard, playing hard and trying not to get pregnant, life comes at you fast when you go from hump to bump.
So you thought adulthood would mean a high-flying career and a luxury lifestyle but instead have ended up with a Lycra-based wardrobe and a deep fear of what lies at the bottom of the ball-pit in soft play?
Join comedian Sophie McCartney as she voyages deep into the uncharted territories of mating, birthing, feral offspring, mums overdoing it at the watering hole and the perilous viper’s nest of the school WhatsApp group.
With laugh-out-loud humour and eye-watering honesty, Sophie shows how whether you’ve had a day full of whining or a night full of wine, there’s joy to be had in the perfectly imperfect wild ride into parenthood.
Critic reviews

What a laugh
If you feel alone in this world of madness worrying that you not doing things right, your the worse mum ever when clearly your not, Sophie says it how it is and gives you belly hugging laughs along the way. She tells you all her in and outs ups and downs but all the way you can relate to some of her life stories and laugh at them while laughing at yourself.
I bought this as an audio book for driving and had to pull in at many a stop because of the belly hugging laughs.
It's not all laughs but you need to read or listen to this but make sure you have the hankies ready for the sad parts as well as the funny parts.

I am a huge fan of Sophie on social media so I was excited to read this. It hasn’t disappointed at all. Sophie is down to earth, matter of fact and so very funny. I love how honest she is about the things she has done, any mishaps and mistakes she has made and her overall bubbly personality. I hope there will be more books written by Sophie in the future that I’m sure will be as interesting, entertaining and enjoyable as this one has. Great job narrating the book too, it’s done perfectly in my opinion.

Enjoyed every second of this book! Sophie has a natural way of making those little ‘throw away’ moments funny and couples it so genuinely with those emotional moments with your children that you wish you could bottle up or revisit in a time machine.
Such a good listen. Was sorry when it was over! Looking forward to listening/reading more of her work, hopefully soon!
