How to process and embrace your grief when it threatens to overwhelm you....
In life, there are times when you experience the highest of highs, moments of sheer joy and bliss, where all feels right with the world. But like two sides of the same coin, there are also inevitable times of despair and grief. Love and loss. One cannot exist without the other.
When you love something, you open up your heart to the risk of being hurt - but the risk is worth the reward. Losing what's important to you is a devastating blow. Whether you're grieving a person, pet, relationship, or something else entirely, your feelings are human and completely valid. It can feel like nobody understands what you're going through, and it's true that each person's grief is a totally unique experience. But you're not alone.
Although it may feel like your world has ended, there is still a life ahead of you. Even when you feel you can't go on, you'll surprise yourself with your inner strength. A guide for your journey through loss
The Cards You’re Dealt is a useful grief recovery guide. I especially liked the section on what is NOT self-care. Too often during the grieving process, well-meaning loved ones try to impose their idea of what is best for the grief-stricken person. Only the person recovering from loss can evaluate whether the suggested activity will fill them with energy and improve their mood or result in them feeling more exhausted. The author has survived tremendous personal loss and shares life lessons, support, and motivation to help fellow grievers regain strength and hope.

Just what I needed!
I recently lost my sister and her husband within 8 months! I've been feeling lost and without purpose as my sister has been like a mum to me as she was the eldest and took care of everyone and everything.
Listening to this book and trying to follow the advice and strategies suggested is starting to help. I had cut myself off from everyone even close family members but now I am learning and feeling how important it is to socialise with family and friends.
Another important reminder in this book is the importance of self care, which again I have been neglecting!
This book has lots of great tip and advice for those suffering from any type of loss and grief.

How to recover after loss.
A wonderful book on how to handle this sadness and actually not go into the depression phase. I just lost 2 weeks ago my grandma... This book helped me to understand grief and how to deal with it with mediations and different kinds of methods for it. Thanks to the author for this amazing content!

A fantastic comprehensive guide through the whole grief process
A heartfelt story which everyone who has ever lost someone or something will relate to. It clearly outlines stages we all go through without realising it and puts a great perspective on dealing with loss. I would highly recommend this book to anyone feeling lonely or sad and lacking coping mechanisms because they feel so lost. The best book I’ve listened to since losing my Mom last year. Best of luck to the author and thank you.

Very touching
I have to say that this is a very well-written book. It’s a tricky subject at the best of times and very hard to get right but I think Erin has got the balance right here. The stories and information are clearly personal and it really comes through. The whole thing is heart-breaking but I thank her for sharing to help others.

Thought provoking and liberating read
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Grief, in all it’s formats can be a crippling experience….what a lovely ‘go to’ tool for those of us trying to overcome grief and bereavement…. It comes to us all eventually. Totally worthwhile read made all the more real because of the authors personal life experience.

Very good and practical
This is a must read book and has so many good information and practical techniques to go through at very special times. I really like the simple ways to help to maintain our physical and emotional health such as art therapy, meditation and drinking hot water…and more.
A great book with full of ideas to help ourselves or others when they lost loved one.

The friend you need to help with loss
This is one of those books that you don’t want to end. It effortlessly takes your hand and guides you through each day and each feeling of loss. It covers so much of the experience – even the bits you didn’t realise are so much a part of it. From ‘silly’ things like managing day-to-day decisions, eating, sleeping and managing finances to meditation, and the most useful part was knowing which type of meditation and at which stage. It even covers fun and laughter and taking time out to and not to feel guilty about it. For me, the best bit was about friendship and how friends can and do help – even when we don’t talk to them. My friend lost her brother and both parents recently and listening to this helped me feel ok about what I was doing and how she was feeling - and I can help more now. For anyone who is grieving, or anyone who is a friend of someone grieving, then this book should be your companion and friend too.

Very Fascinating
One of the must read books out there. It was a perfect time when I get the chance to listen to this. It was surprisingly a good time because a few weeks ago I lost a very loved person. And this book helped me to recover somehow, it guided me to heal, it did lift something in me. The meditation helped a lot. It gave me peace of mind and continue with what's left in my life right now. I like it overall, great narration and content.
