Story
Those who follow the noble art of cultivation know that there's no place for evil in their craft. All that matters is reaching the Heavens, but to do that, one must unlock their Force. The Fallen Star Sect's expedition to the mysterious cave ended in tragedy. Hundreds of their most talented students lost their lives in the dark tunnels. No less horrible was the fate of those who had found themselves at the imperial palace at the time. Nobody could've predicted such a turn of events.

Summary
Contains books one and two of the hit Russian LitRPG series The Heavenly Throne.
Force Cultivation, book one
He was the young, handsome, and rich champion of underground fighting in his world. Recognized world champions were no match for him. He had her; the love of his life. He lived for her and for battle. However, in an instant, it was all gone. He lost his life and his name. His dreams were taken away from him. The one he had been in love with since childhood had betrayed him and plunged a knife into his heart.
In another world, very different and distant, a boy lying in a muddy ditch suddenly opens his eyes. A new life has been awakened in his empty body. What will he do with an offer for a second chance at life?
In a world where your worth is determined by your martial arts, what path will Kai follow in a world where power and skill reign supreme?
The Way of the Force, book two
True force unleashes one's inner power. It determines the strength of martial arts practitioners.
Kai found a new life, a new home, and even a new family in a world vastly different from his own. However, he lost it all in a blink of an eye. Life as he knew it was gone overnight. But before he allowed rage and despair to overcome him, he discovered an ancient city and got a chance for revenge.
Now his path leads east, to the capital of the Alkea Empire, to his sister, Julie, and the strongest sect in the country that could aid him in the development of his strength and skills in a world ruled by martial arts.

Whiny MC with entitlement symptom
MC: its wrong that elites can kill anyone because might makes right
next moment
MC: gets OP and kills for vengeance
MC: kills a dude
next moment
MC: WHY - I JUST WANT TO LIVE IN PEACE!!
I mean, its not the worst reincarnation book I ever read, but the whiny MC just gets on my nerves. So if reading about an insanely op mc challenging authority figures with smirking self satisfaction is your thing - its probably a good read.

Enjoyed both
So I waited for the third book to listen to both and really enjoyed both it is kinda odd having a book read to you by Fred if I had a complaint it is that so many throw away characters get names. Asian names are hard enough for me to keep straight without that not a real issue both just some constructive criticism if the author reads these and I look forward to the next book you write

Okay story. Bad narration.
Edited review:
Before I had only read the first book. now I'm nearing end of the last one. I had to remove all the stars for performance because I'm so genuinely irritated by this voice actor. There have been so many characters who shout for absolutely no reason. I feel like this is narrated by a 13 year old with mood issues. Some of the writing and conversations are just horrible too. I would not recommend this book.
I enjoy the story but the narration is a little annoying. I like the voice in general, yet there are areas that just irritate me. The are outbursts where the mc really over reacts, going from calm to a shout for little reason. It really reminded me of a 13 year old having a temper tantrum, which just felt really out of place.
The other thing that annoys me is the swearing. Sure I don't mind swearing, but you could at least change it up a little. I've noticed the f swear used multiple times when something goes wrong, and it just feels repetitive and childish.
Other than that it's a good story. I enjoy it, but I probably wouldn't buy the rest of the serise.

failed to finish
I am not sure if it is a bad translation, if it is a hit Russian ltrpg series as claimed, or if it the mono tone narration but I did not care about any of the characters. It fails so hard to captivate that even as I write this I am struggling to remember the specifics.

A pleasant surprise
After reading the negative reviews I almost didnt purchase the book, then went to goodreads to research the series. Glad I did, this is a fast paced book with out the fluff that comes in other cultivation books. Don’t get me wrong I love the fluff, but going into hours of details on how the Mc cultivates and all the build up to one fight is refreshingly not as long here. This book gets to the point quick and progression is fluid. Kirby like always kills it in narration! Looking forward to the next book

the epilogue was stupid
this book has only a few flaws and that is why it gets 4 stars but I will probably not continue this series because of the utterly stupid epilogue. I hate when an author gets lazy and just gives power to characters that should be DEAD.
I have almost no desire to continue this story knowing that this character will continue to be an antagonist.

Its just.. Not very good
The story sounds very much like the first draft to a self insert fan fiction written by a high schooler..
I mean, at one point, to show how "evil" one of the antagonists are, the author literally writes a mini chapter about how the dude rapes two girls, chokes one and bashes the head open of the other one, because he cant "help it.". Normally, I'd be like "Only write about rape if it makes sense, dont use rape as a prop in your story". But the entire scene is so badly written that I couldnt help but just sigh.
All in all, the story is basically the same as the one written by TurtleMe, except even less intelligently written. At least TurtleMe understood how to write his characters, even if it felt like he rather wanted to write stories for manga/manhwa. (Something I actually managed to confirm accidentally when I literally found a Manhwa written by TurtleMe..)
Give this book a chance if you really have nothing else to listen to, otherwise, move on.
Plot is generally easy to see through and theres so many tropes that you just feel tired..
I gave up on this book around 6 hours into it.
Voice actor is decent though, even though he does seem to overact in most circumstances.

A fun listen at work
Overall, this is a good book, but the plot is a bit messy. Most of the time, a problem and its solution comes out of nowhere. The best example is when the MC has his soul crippled so he cant get too strong, only to find an ancient soul form an interplanetary empire who knows how to fix the problem. He never had to struggle to fix it or anything. The entire time I was thinking "why cripple him, then just throw away that entire plot for nothing?" Other then problems like that, its a fun book

Are there missing chapters or what?
I can't tell if the author just doesn't explain anything on purpose or if parts of the book are missing. I'm pretty sure that he just lacks any explanation.
There's only the vaguest idea of how the cultivation works, as for the boys abilities there's just sporadic and unexplained mentions of them.

Nope.
I don't like leaving bad reviews but It reads as if it was written by a 14 year old. MC has no depth. Experiences from his past life aren't represented at all.
This series needs a lot of work. I'm hoping this was the authors first novel so he's has room for growth.

Ok, but not great.
Its story is ok. But there is to much deux ex machina and plotarmor. How Lucky is the MC just finding the right stuff and people and enemies exactly when needed. But that is not what buggs me the most, its the cultivating, it's just more OP magic and spells. I like the more martial arts one. He just learns spell without efford. The training is like he trained for 3 weeks and bam. Meanwhile explanasion of a brigde is several pages. The Litrpg is bugged aswell, missing details etc. Not sure if i read the next one. Maybe if I have nothing else.
