About this listen
***PLEASE NOTE: The Mitford Affair was previously published as Bright Young Dead***
'Absolute blissikins. Set in 1925, The Mitford Affair is a delightful mashup of real and fictional characters'
GUARDIAN
As the glamour of the Bright Young Things crashes into the world of the Mitford sisters, their maid Louisa Cannon finds herself at the scene of a gripping murder mystery.
Meet the Bright Young Things, the rabble-rousing hedonists of the 1920s whose treasure hunts were a media obsession. One such game takes place at the 18th birthday party of Pamela Mitford, but ends in tragedy as cruel, charismatic Adrian Curtis is pushed to his death from the church neighbouring the Mitford home.
The police quickly identify the killer as a maid, Dulcie. But Louisa Cannon, chaperone to the Mitford girls and a former criminal herself, believes Dulcie to be innocent, and sets out to clear the girl's name . . . all while the real killer may only be steps away.

Jolly murder
Really enjoyed the 2nd book in the Mitford murders. An easy listen, fun characters and kept me company while I worked.

A good sequel
Narrator excellent. There was an excessive use of the word insouciant but overall story good

A great sequel
I definitely would recommend this series of books to anyone. A nice gentle murder mystery with enough twists and turns to keep you from guessing whodunnit.

Totally lost interest in this
This started off so well, then a few chapters in I felt like I was listening to another book altogether. Totally lost interest and forgot who all the characters were and who had actually died.

Book 2
This is the second book of the series. It's a great follow up to the first book and a very clever storyline, but I was a bit deflated with the relationship between Louisa and the police man but, I know there is more to come so watch this space... :) my advice is listen to them from book one then you can follow the story and timeline better. Would definitely recommend.

Enjoyable series
Absolutely thrilled to have a new series to follow. The Mitford sister were so notorious as I was growing up, due to having a scandalous aunt.
The writing of this story and the previous one is excellent, being transported back in time and one imagines being there.
I look forward to hearing the third book
