Summary

Suspense. Secrets. Suspicion. Scandal. Storytelling that will keep you guessing until the very end. The Prisoner is the nerve-shredding new novel from the author of global best seller Behind Closed Doors.

A relationship can hold many secrets....

She wakes up in a pitch-black room, not knowing where she is. Why has she been taken? Who can she hear talking? And why does she soon feel safer here, imprisoned, than she had begun to feel with her husband, Jed?

Amelie has always been a survivor, from losing her parents as a child in Paris to making it on her own in London. Then she meets Carolyn and is soon swept up in a glamorous London lifestyle. Until it starts to go wrong....

In true B.A. Paris style, The Prisoner is a gripping survival story, a twisted love story and at its dark heart a thriller to keep you up all night.

This book had me gripped from page one.

The storyline is page-turning, I blinked and I was three-quarters of the way through, so many great twists and turns. Believable characters that you care about but the ending sucks! Sorry it just does :(

Not B.A Paris best work

I was so looking forward to listening to this as I’ve listened to all B.A Paris books, behind closed doors being my ultimate favourite.

It started off well, full of drama, getting straight to it which I always appreciate but then it kind of went on, and on, and on…so much happened in this book that you got lost and a little bored in the middle. I checked a few times how long was left as I thought it was the end I did this with 4 hours left then 2 hours left.

Overall it is a good plot line, with a good few moments & the ending was ok but I wouldn’t reread this one unfortunately. It just wasn’t captivating enough

I do love Georgia Maguire as the narrator though, she narrated all of the sweet pea novels and made them a brilliant listen

Kept me listening

A decent story bit of a twist at the end. The earlier characters could have been developed more

Great read

Great listen but a tad long winded for me. Took a while to get into it, but did enjoy it,

Just not BA Paris

Honestly, I've craved previous books, but this just seems like one that's only been created because the publisher put pressure on her for more books in less time. A shame really

Loved it!

Loved this story, couldn’t stop listening.. great twists! Really enjoyed the narration.. only odd thing was the story is set in England and the narrator is English - but there are American words like attorney, vacation, trunk, garbage.. Can’t wait for her next book!

Great but disappointing finale

Absolutely fantastic. Second half of the book was great but ending was very abrupt and dissatisfying. Come on B.A Paris we need another Behind closed Doors. I listen to it every time I go on a flight so 12 times now!

Boring

The first few chapters were promising, but after a while I got so bored that I turned out and lost what was going on. I went back a few chapters to try to pick it up, but the same thing happened again. I'm disappointed because I've liked some of the writer's other books, and I love this narrator (she's the only reason it gets two stars from me). I'm giving up now and returning it.
