The future needs Dyslexic Thinking!
British social entrepreneur, founder and CEO of charity Made By Dyslexia, Kate Griggs has been shifting the narrative on dyslexia and educating people on its strengths since 2004. Having been surrounded by an extraordinary 'smorgasbord of Dyslexic Thinking' her whole life, Griggs knows the superpower of dyslexia all too well.
With a forward from Sir Richard Branson, This is Dyslexia covers everything you need to understand, value and support Dyslexic Thinking. From offering practical advice on how to support the dyslexics in your life to breaking down the 6 Dyslexic Thinking skills in adults, Griggs shares her knowledge in an easily digestible guide.
This is Dyslexia redefines and reshapes what it means to be dyslexic. It explores how it has shaped our past and how harnessing its powers and strengths is vital to our future.

I just found out who I am
So many lightbulb moments, I now understand so much more about myself. Just wish it was years ago that Audible and this book existed.

Insufferable
I only managed to listen to half of this before switching it off (and it’s only 3 hours long). I felt like I was listening to the same points being made over and over again. What’s worse is that it’s just a series of lists with no real content to back them.
The worst part was that I lost track of the amount of times I heard the phrase “made by dyslexia “. At first it was tedious then it slowly just became annoying. You don’t have to say it at the end of every quote. Not only is it annoying, it’s arrogant. You can’t just claim every quote in the name of your charity. You can’t just claim that people are “made by dyslexia”. Let’s take John Lennon for example. He’s been dead along time so he’s never endorsed that. He may have been dyslexic but what gives you the right to decide that it made him? That all of the people in this book only achieved what they did because of their dyslexia?
The second phrase I was sick of hearing was “follow the link in the accompanying pdf”. Over and over again.
The book just doesn’t translate into an audio book in its raw format. It needs to be reworked. It just feels like an advert for the made by dyslexia website. You’re constantly being referred to the pdf for links to videos. As someone who likes to listen to audiobooks in the car or generally on the go, this is absolutely no use to me. As a dyslexic person it’s even worse as by the time I’ve got to home and have time to go back and watch or listen, I’ve forgotten the context surrounding it.
I’m sure made by dyslexia have done some good work in changing the way the world see dyslexic people but this audiobook was a big let down

Really annoying and not very informative
Repeatedly saying made by dyslexia and claiming dyslexics have a superpower is both basic and unhelpful. I thought this book might actually add to my knowledge, helping me better understand my condition. It was actually just profoundly annoying and contained very little useful information.
