About this listen
OVR WORLD ONLINE – GLOBAL ANNOUNCEMENT: A powerful artifact has been discovered.
Zee Locked in has recovered The First Player’s Sword from a dungeon hidden beneath the Goblin’s Keep!
Zee and his friends didn’t expect that after they survived recovering the legendary First Player’s Sword that OVR World Online would announce it to the whole world. Even though no one knows about the secrets that the Sword protects it’s still a powerful one-of-a-kind game item that everyone wants. To make matters worse, they’ve reached Level 5 and the party has to depart the Orientation Zone.
Outside of the OZ, Player-vs-Player combat isn’t just allowed, it’s encouraged. As long as Zee has the Sword, he and his friends will have every Mega Corp, Clan, and treasure hunting Player Killer aiming for them.
As the high-level bounties start to be posted, Zee quickly realizes it won’t take much for him to be knocked down and have the Sword ripped away.

Most enjoyed book in a long while
The whole thing hangs together beautifully. The plot is layered and not predictable so far. The characters are well developed and sometimes spontaneously created.
I love the containment of stats into a chapter to be skipped or not- at will. It was the first book in a long time where things are not straightforward and that didn’t read like a stupid disaster movie. I was truly surprised, impressed, engrossed and captivated by the story. The storyline doesn’t rely on crass erotica which is a huge bonus, it relies on being a well told, better story.

Mostly good
Enjoying the story.
Though it is a little Ready Player One-esque.
The author should probably drop the Exforce series catchphrase they have "borrowed"... you name checked the series in this book, so it's obvious.. and cringe.

Crunchy and Creamy, love the choice!
This is a fun tale with loads of sci fi Easter eggs and references that are right up my street. I like how you can choose to skip through the stats sheets if you want but they provide nice reminders of the quests completed and previous storylines due to their quirky titles. Good character development and some great twists and turns to the plot to stop it being predictable. A definite improvement on the first one, and looking forward to reading part 3.

really enjoyable
I really want to know when the next book is coming out? the hole feel of the book has gotten better from the first one which was probably 3/4 out of 5 for most things but this gives me the chance to hear the stats when I want to and skip if I don't. then the book just kept on reeling me in

Nice easy listen, can't wait for the next one :)
Nice easy listen, can't wait for the next step in Zee's adventure.
The option of a more crunchy or creamy listen was nice too.

Good litrpg
I have thoroughly enjoyed the story so far.
It's pleasantly unpredictable, gritty but not the kind of meat grinder as game of thrones or the first law series from other authors. I really like the respawn aspect with the added spice of possibility of permadeath, along with the unfairness of class segregation that affects the game, creating a good sense of tension.
Character interaction and motivations are deep, and there are easter eggs and references to the game genre and geeky popculture in general that don't feel forced, however they are plentiful.
It was a good idea to separate the character statsheet into their own chapters. I did listen through them as I liked the narrator's voice.
I'm only a few books deep into the litrpg genre in general, but the two books so far in the OWO universe are so far my favorites.
äThank you for the stories.

looking forward to the next one!
This is the first gaming style book that I've read.....I really enjoyed the characters and their variety! The author has put a lot of effort into talking you through level up, ability points and powers. The story is the right level of grit for me too.
