Summary
From the author of the Goodreads Choice Award winner The Spanish Love Deception, the eagerly anticipated follow-up featuring Rosie Graham and Lucas Martín, who are forced to share a New York apartment.
Rosie Graham has a problem. A few, actually. She just quit her well paid job to focus on her secret career as a romance writer. She hasn’t told her family and now has terrible writer’s block. Then, the ceiling of her New York apartment literally crumbles on her. Luckily she has her best friend Lina’s spare key while she’s out of town. But Rosie doesn’t know that Lina has already lent her apartment to her cousin Lucas, who Rosie has been stalking—for lack of a better word—on Instagram for the last few months. Lucas seems intent on coming to her rescue like a Spanish knight in shining armour. Only this one strolls around the place in a towel, has a distracting grin, and an irresistible accent. Oh, and he cooks.
Lucas offers to let Rosie stay with him, at least until she can find some affordable temporary housing. And then he proposes an outrageous experiment to bring back her literary muse and meet her deadline: He’ll take her on a series of experimental dates meant to jump-start her romantic inspiration. Rosie has nothing to lose. Her silly, online crush is totally under control—but Lucas’s time in New York has an expiration date, and six weeks may not be enough, for either her or her deadline.

Way too long
This could be 4-6hrs shorter. Really not a fan of this author’s need to ramble for minutes at a time about the same thing. Made Rosie a copy/paste of Lina because of it. I won’t be going for book 3 (if there is one) Voice actors OK; sometimes the male acting as Rosie was annoying

3.5 stars
I started off really enjoying this book, however as it progressed, it became far too long for the story and could have done with being a quarter shorter. Things which happened could have developed faster.
It is a lovely story, but didn’t feel as well developed as the first novel by the same author.

Most horrible narrator
I love a corny love story as much as the next person but the dialogue was sooo awkward. If you want to avoid the spicy scenes do that, but do not do it halfway with weird dialogue.
I HATED the male narrator. Every time I heard him I had to take of my earbuds. He was sort of whispering and not doing the character justice.. I did not enjoy this:(

Meh
Not my favourite, It's a ok lovestory, but the male narrator is weird. Wish the characters just talked to each other.

nice story but the old man narration distracted
This had all the ingredients I normally love but felt a bit predictable and I was so distracted by the male narrator sounding like an out of breath old man that I couldn't really get into it. Perhaps that was the brief from the producers but for me it totally ruined it

Enjoyed the story-the performance was 🔥
I really enjoyed Rosie's and Luca's story, and also being able to hear the story unfold by both points of view.
The performance was lit by both male and female narrators, althought, the narration by Noah B. Perez was a bit distracting . . . but a "guilty pleasure" nevertheless.
PS.1: It was nice to have little glimpses in Lina's & Aaron's life.
PS.2: I'm definitely reading the book after. I really like Elena Armas' writing style.

Good story
Good story line, albeit a bit cliche and predictable (still an enjoyable story though!) but not too fond of the narration in this one, particularly the male character chapters. I don’t think the voice fit the story or character.

holy hell
this guy and the breathy way he goes the reading.... is so cringe !!! I listen to books in 1.3
speed. and tried to listen in normal speed and I couldn't for a second. the lady doing a Spanish accent is .... bad .... rosie keeps repeating herself. much mile Lena did in the fist one.... and I will not forgive the author for making Jake jygelski a deadbeat who didn't get her a corsage... Jake jygelski would never!!!

The thought through way the book progressed and the vocabulary used to describe everything
I loved their love for one another and their knowledge of each other. As well as the character put into the reading of the book by the narrators
